Job Description:
Job Title: CVOR Tech Job Specialty: Open Heart Surgery Job
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour days Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours
per week Experience: 3 years as a surgical technician; must have
experience with open heart bypass procedures, cardiac, vascular,
and thoracic surgeries License: Graduate of an approved school of
practical nursing, operating room technician program, or military
training program Certifications: Healthcare Provider CPR (prior to
employment or eligible for re-certification during orientation)
Must-Have: - Current enrollment in a post-secondary school program
pursuing ORT certification and/or Nursing program- Negative drug
screen for all panels Job Description: - Prepare operating rooms
for operative procedures using appropriate techniques.- Provide
technical services and assist in the operating room as assigned and
directed.- Care for patients of all ages, including newborn,
pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.- Regularly exposed to
risk of bloodborne diseases and hazardous anesthetic agents.-
Required to wear protective clothing including eye and face
protection, mask, lab coat, gown, hat, shoe covers, and
sterile/non-sterile gloves.- Commitment to maintaining a drug-free
environment.- Ability to adapt to occasional exposure to unpleasant
elements such as accidents, injuries, or illnesses.
