qualified Wound/Ostomy RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61636 About The
Position Weekly Pay Range - $2376 To $2640 Job Title: Registered
Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Wound/Hyperbaric Safety Specialty Job
Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Day - 5x8 - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Guaranteed
Hours: 40 Hours per Week Experience: 1-3 years in a
medical/surgical clinical setting License: Registered Professional
Nurse (RN) License - Required Certifications: Basic Life Support
(BLS) - AHA Must-Have: - Advanced English reading, writing, and
oral skills - Basic knowledge of wound, ostomy, and skin care
management - Clinical expertise and ability to function without
direct supervision Job Description: - Provide expertise in wound,
ostomy, or skin care management in the Wound Care Center. - Operate
hyperbaric chambers and system components effectively and safely,
such as TcpO2 monitor. - Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as
prescribed by the physician. - Assist with patient preparation in
the monoplace chamber facility and provide technical expertise to
physicians and staff. - Maintain and process hyperbaric supplies
and ensure equipment is properly maintained and inspected. -
Communicate with physicians/offices to clarify orders. - Assess
data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the
information needed to address educational needs based on age. -
Ensure wound/ostomy/skin care plan is understood by those in the
continuum of care including Home Health and DME Companies. -
Document patient's response to interventions and perform accurate
patient assessments. - Evaluate patient/family cultural and
cognitive needs to promote comfort and compliance with care
regimens. - Obtain adequate lab specimens for testing and perform
bedside lab testing following procedures/policies. - Conduct
department data collection, post-treatment follow-up calls, and
quality reviews. - Understand and apply NFPA guidelines specific to
hyperbaric chambers. - Provide effective wound care education and
documentation to ensure a high level of care. - Stay informed on
trends, standards, and education related to skin care, wound, and
ostomy. - Facilitate product evaluation for ostomy and wound/skin
care products. - Thoroughly document patient care and any changes
in patient's status. - Display technical knowledge of equipment,
tests, and procedures. - Maintain pharmacology knowledge and
actively share wound care updates with staff. - Comply with all
safety guidelines, procedures, and policies for hyperbaric oxygen
therapy. - Participate in symposiums or review literature to stay
updated on NFPA, OSHA, TJC, PVHO, and UHMS codes and credentialing
