I'm partnered with the CFO at a global, family-owned, multi-million dollar environmental company in Downtown Chicago (2 days remote). The company partners with large, well-known manufacturing companies to recycle their hazardous waste. Due to growth and opportunities for internal mobility, they are now looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to join their team.As the Senior Accountant, you will be a key financial member of the accounting team, working closely with the senior leaders and providing financial information to impact operating decisions. This individual will be responsible for managing 3 P&Ls and be a pivotal contributor to the month-end close process, working directly with the Accounting Manager who will be mentoring this individual within multiple facets of accounting and finance.Job DescriptionSenior Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the monthly general ledger close process
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure adherence to US GAAP and Global Accounting Policies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead their implementation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide training as necessary
  • Reconcile financial data across different platforms to ensure accuracy
  • Research and interpret data to address accounting and financial inquiries
  • Support various audit processes
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and perform additional accounting duties as neededThe Successful Applicant
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 5+ years of experience in accounting
    • Advanced skills in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sum ifs, etc)
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail
    • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentWhat's on Offer
